How Aether works
Aether is Inectio's secure file handover service. Every handover has a clear beginning and end.
Sending files to Inectio
- Enter the invitation token from your Inectio email on the start page.
- Confirm the 8-digit code we email to the address Inectio set for the invitation.
- Add the requested files. Large uploads resume after a network interruption; if your browser restarts, enter the token again and choose the same file to continue.
- Review the handover and choose Seal and send. Aether checks and encrypts every file, then emails each recipient separately.
Receiving files
Open the link in your Aether email, request a code and enter it. Links are personal: a forwarded link does not work for another mailbox. Access ends on the date shown in the email and on the page.
Common questions
- The token is not accepted
- Check for typing mistakes. Tokens stop working at the upload deadline, after the handover is sealed, or when Inectio issues a new one.
- No code arrives
- Check junk folders and wait a minute. You can request a new code; the newest code replaces earlier ones.
- The upload deadline is close
- Contact your Inectio contact before it passes — they can extend an active invitation.
- A file was not accepted
- Executables, scripts, web pages, macro-enabled documents and password-protected archives are blocked. Remove it and send the content in an accepted format.
- Is it encrypted?
- Yes, in transit and at rest. Aether's checking and delivery services can read files to scan and deliver them; this is not end-to-end encryption.
Still stuck? Email support@inectio.com or contact the Inectio person who invited you. Never send the token or a code to anyone who asks for it.
